Do I need my own guitar?
Not for our first session, but if you do, bring it! We will talk about the music you want to make, map out your goals, and establish a clear path forward. If you want advice on buying an instrument, we can talk about that also!
Am I too old to learn?
Not at all. In fact, many of my clients have been adults who are picking up the guitar for the first time. Adults bring a unique advantage: focus and a clear sense of "why" you want to play! We skip the fluff and get straight to the music that moves you, no matter how long it’s been since your last lesson (or if it's never happened at all!).
How quickly will I see results?
My goal is to get you playing music within our first few sessions, giving you quick and satisfying results right away. We focus entirely on "small wins," building confidence and skills one step at a time, so that even 15 to 25 minutes of focused practice 3 days a week translates into real progress on the fretboard.
What times are available?
Life is busy and I get it! Instead of trying to force lessons into your schedule, let's find time that fits naturally around school runs and work commitments. Afternoons, Evenings or Weekends are available. Our first session is perfect for mapping out a plan, to make sure we build consistency that works for everyone involved.
In-person or Online—which is better?
Both are highly effective! In-person sessions allow me to provide direct feedback on technique. It's also good practice to play live in front of someone consistently. Online lessons offer great flexibility and convenience for busy schedules. I will share a link to download music-specific software, similar to Zoom but designed for online music lessons. You will need a set of plug-in headphones, which you can get as cheaply as $15 ordered online. Plug-in headphones are necessary to prevent feedback loops and echo during the lessons. You also need a strong internet connection & either a desktop computer or your phone to make Online lessons successful!
What's your Cancellation Policy?
Life happens, and I completely understand that plans change! Your lessons are reserved specifically for you, and consistent practice is key to your growth. If you need to cancel or reschedule, let me know at least 24 hours before our scheduled time. Because I cannot fill last-minute openings, lessons canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as missed lessons, will be charged at the full rate.
